Asker: Don't know what to do with this, You seem to be right according to another manufacturer but his product name is so obtuse and it does indicate "slippage" so why not just say "slip indicator"? How do you find such references Deane hidden away in brochures?

You'll find the same gadget pictured on p 29 (and again on p 35) of the Eng version with this header. But they talk about it as an indicator of slippage of the 'rock bolt'.
