That's the traditional meaning of the term, but a couple of chain stores are trying to give the term an entirely new meaning.

Explanation:
I'd like to see 'produce' or 'fresh produce' to describe what you're talking about-- say, as a 'modern' concept store. Otherwise Sven's 'farmers market' can be used .
