Swedish term or phrase: Aktuella vattenlägen
This is a text about a marketing research concerning different companies.
There are no long sentences. It is an excel document where the media give their opinion about their contact with the companies. Whether they are willing to maintain transparency with the journalists or not.
In one of the cells, I found Aktuella vattenlägen, which has confused me. I cannot name the company here but it seems to be a multinational involved in defence and aerospace.

I am grateful for any ideas.

current water levels
Explanation:
Very difficult to say with certainty without further context, but this would be the likely meaning in my view, possibly having to do with water storage levels - dam levels/reservoir levels - or with the water levels in areas prone to flooding - flood levels/sea levels.

How the land lies

Explanation:
Could this possibly be the Swedish equivalent of the English phrase 'how the land lies' ?
Can any Swede give us the meaning even if you don't have a translation so that we can do it together
Thanks

disagree  Anna Herbst: Sorry to be contrary, but you may be thinking about the expression "Hur är läget?" which could translate to "How are things?" or even perhaps "How does the land lie?". I cannot see any connection to the "aktuella vattenläget".

disagree  SafeTex: This is not an act of revenge but must be wrong given the context of a marketing survey on transparency. We all need some help on this

-> Ever heard of climate change? Rising water levels is one of the problems that may occur in the not too distant future. Transparency from major polluters is sometimes - some may say often - lacking, so there is most certainly a context.

Tell(s) it as it is!

Explanation:
Thanks for the examples, Helena.
"Aktuella vattenlägen" seems totally off-the-wall, so here is my guess - well you did say you would be grateful for any ideas!

"Tells it as it is" is a common expression for someone (more often something e.g. a company, a review) who tells the truth to the point of bluntness.
The reference defines the alternative "Tell it it like it is"

Example sentence(s):
  • Save the Children tells it as is in Syria today.

neutral  SafeTex: Like you Michael, I have a feeling that this is what is meant but we are both at a low confidence level. Anna's literal translation makes no sense in the context. We all need help here

disagree  Anna Herbst: If that is your suggestion it could just as well be "It's the real thing" or some other marketing phrase. As a native Swedish speaker, I fail to see how the phrase in question can be translated other than literally.
