Swedish term or phrase: Trafikvärd
"Trafikvärd är den som ger service och information till trafikanter i lokaltrafiken."

All of us Swedes know who these people are, but what in the world are they called in English. The closest term I found was "traffic host" but that seemed exclusive to parking lots at arenas and such.

The main suggestion is used in London (https://www.online-jobs.co.uk/TFL/CSA_AC_Practice_Materials.... and the attendant seems to be used in AU. See if this helps!
