In sentences like:

Man har förlängt och höjt ***tråget*** efter en översvämmningsutredning som gjorts.

Bergnivåer påverkar placering av spont och grundläggning av tunnel/***tråg***

Tåg kan spåra ur och välter ner i schakt eller ***tråg***

I had originally concluded that as a "tråg" can be a "trough" (for animals), it is probably a "trench" here.

But i have a doubt and now wonder if it is more like a "basin" as "tråg" is also a "tray" in another context

It has already been translated on Proz as "trough" in the same context but I don't think this is right.

agree  Deane Goltermann: Right 'tråg' means a lot of things, and my guess is you have it used in two different ways in the sentences you've given. Trough is correct for your two first sentences. Your third sentence is more of a head-scratcher ...
