Asker: Thanks! I also found a reference to this term where it was referred to as "coin reforme" (sic), as your example also indicates. It seems to be the closest term defining the concept within the context. Because more than what was done to the coins (adding a less valuable metal, reducing the weight or adjusting the value against other coins) it refers to an overall regulation, an official attempt to set a legal standard.
