peer agreement (net): +1guessing... of course Explanation: i am fairly certain that 'bellow' should be a typo for 'below'... from that, s/he might have meant 'your laundry could get stuck somewhere midway to the buttom of the machine'. that is: a wrong phrasing might have been the case -> 'midst' instead of 'middle, midway' and 'below' instead of 'buttom' just my 2 cents (must be what they paid per word of this translation) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 32 mins (2005-03-11 02:13:52 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- tinageta, upon seeing your same question in eng-mono, i checked google: there\'s a part in washing machines that\'s called \'körük lastigi\'; \'körük\' is bellows, yes, though i don\'t know if it\'s the correct english term in washing machines, and \'lastik\' (\'lastigi\' is accusative) means rubber. it\'s the round rubber part on the inner part of the front cover, and it\'s reasonable to think that a sock can get stuck there. so, i guess you\'ve found the answer elsewhere, in the eng-mono. good luck with the rest :-) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 46 mins (2005-03-11 02:27:38 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- last addition: meaning: the sock can get stuck (sandwiched) between the rubber and the lid check turkish>english dictionary for \'arasına, arasında\' [in this context: between] you will find \'in the midst of\' among other things -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs 58 mins (2005-03-11 06:39:27 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- wishing you luck with the text, tinageta, in the meantime if you feel like some turkish coffee, just let me know :-)) |
