Hi guys! I'm translating "1453:The Holy War for Constantinople and the Clash of Islam and the West" by Roger Crowley into Chinese.

There is one passage:

Murat left to his successor. Byzantine meddlings in the 1440s had convinced him that the Ottoman state could never be secure as long as Constantinople remained a Christian enclave. ‘He left as a bequest to his illustrious successor’, said the Ottoman chronicler Sa’d-ud-din, ‘the erection of the standards of the jihad for the capture of that city, by the addition of which … he might protect the prosperity of the people of Islam and break the back of the wretched misbelievers.’

Does anyone know anything about this Ottoman chronicler Sa’d-ud-din?

I think it might be beacuse of the English transliteration, I find it diffcult to find any info on him.
And, how to pronounce his name? Is it like "saad---wood---din"?

The Turkish Wikipedia gives his name as "Sadettin"- both versions seem to be acceptable.
I prefer "Saddeddin" as it sounds more "Ottoman" and has more academic references...

Explanation:
It should have bin written as saad ed-din since it is a composite name. However saad ud-deen is wrong and it should be pronounced as above.
