The above definition is provided by Redhouse dictionary. This is obviously a fairly literal rendering which will convey little meaning to English-speaking people. Most Turkish proverbs do not have a close equivalent in English. As I am sure you are well aware, a good idiomatic rendering of such proverbs can only be provided in a specific context, which you fail to provide. I am a little puzzled as to the object of this exercise of asking the meaning of a whole string of obscure proverbs in the ebsence of any context.
