end the marriage Explanation: I am pretty sure that there exists no such technical term in Turkish Civil Law. This term seems to be used more in a religious sense - I wonder if this was an 'imam nikahı' - or just in everyday speech. I think the above suggestion may fit. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 22 mins (2014-03-14 12:19:06 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I see it says 'resmi nikah', which is strange. The only way of ending an official marriage in Turkey is through divorce (boşanma) - there is no such legal procedure as 'nikahtan düşürmek'. Sometimes the term 'dissolution of the marriage' is used in English. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2014-03-14 13:00:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- There is also annulment of the marriage (evliliğin iptali) if the marriage is voidable, but again this is not the term asked. |
