In the summer of 2017, I graduated from the FI-EN literary translators' mentorship program organized by the Finnish Literature Exchange (FILI). I also have a Ph.D. in Finnish literature and film from the Department of Scandinavian Studies at the University of Washington. I have experience translating fiction, general nonfiction, young adult fiction, and children's picture books. I have translated well-known authors such as Mika Waltari and Rosa Liksom.
Raised bilingually (Finnish/English) in the USA, I am currently a PhD student in Comparative Literature at the University of Helsinki. My dissertation involves primary sources in Finnish, which I translate. I have worked as a copyeditor and proofreader of academic texts in the Humanities and Social Sciences for the past five years, giving me deft control of the English language. This year should see the publication of my first novel.
