I was born in Germany in 1975. My mother being German and my father Belgian, I grow up in both languages French and German.
In 1985 I came back to Belgium, where I made my whole studies, including a higher education in Germanic languages (German, English and Dutch). I completed my studies with great distinction in June 1997.
Languages
The source languages I am thus used to translate from are German, English and Dutch.
Target Language is mostly French, but I am also used to translate into German.
Career description
When I left school in 1997 I worked for one year in a lawyer association in Brussels called LSWH, specialised in European law, where I get used with the translation of defence speeches, minutes and a lot of other law documents.
In 1998 I left this lawyer association to work for a multi-national group called Bosch and especially for their household appliances department. I stayed with this company for three years and get used with the translation of catalogues, product datasheets, operating manuals, mailings and a lot of marketing documents.
From 2001 until December 2005 I worked for the technical department of Pittsburgh Corning Europe, a cellular glass manufacturing company, where I translated all the technical documents including MSDS, product datasheets, European Standards, testing reports, into French and German.
Since February 2006 I decided to go on my own and to work as a freelance translator to dedicate myself entirely to translation.

IT knowledge
I have an extended knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher.
As translation software I currently use Wordfast.
