The Art of Translation is a vocation.
In my case, it began as early as infancy. Born in Spain to a German father and a French mother, I have always been motivated/affected by the correct/proper use of language in order to communicate in a clear, direct and accessible way. I have turned my commitment to the proper/correct use of language, which continues to be my passion today, into my professional vocation.
After receiving my German Bachelor’s degree (Deutsches Abitur, German School in Madrid), I concentrated on obtaining a deeper understanding of my third native culture, French ('licence Lettres Modernes', Faculté de Lettres Paul Valéry, Université de Montpellier). Once I received my university degree, I studied the second cycle of Translation and Interpretation between Brussels (Haute École de Bruxelles, Institut Supérieur de Traducteurs et Interprètes) and Madrid (Cluny- La Sorbonne, ISEIT).
My main interest continues to be, without a doubt, the infinite understanding of language in all its facets (Linguistics, Culture, Communication…).
My knowledge has been enriched by working and translating for such diverse industries from arts and entertainment (Cirque du Soleil) to banking (Credit Suisse). Since 2005, I have been the official Spanish translator of the scientific publication ‘FRUITS’, edited by the Cirad (French Agricultural Research Center). In addition, I continue to offer regular services as an interpreter for diverse cultural events in the press, on the radio, at international fairs, etc.
My work involves translation and interpretation as well as copy-editing and writing. I work in my three native languages (Spanish, French and German) as well as with English and Portuguese, both of which I have acquired through continuous study.
I am lucky to have turned my passion into my work –or my work into my passion: The Art of Translation.
