I have been living in the UK since 2004.
I have been working as a public service interpreter (interpreting for Czech and Slovak clients, mainly in the medical sector). In 2009, I won two prizes for my performance at the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting examination:
-Corsellis Cup for the Best Candidate in the DPSI (Health) and
- the Susan Tolman CPD Prize for the overall Best Candidate in the DPSI
Combined with my MA in Psychology (Czech Republic) I have a good working knowledge of the health and social science field.
My translation skills are reflected in a very good result of the Diploma in Translation examination, IoL (English into Czech, 2011) - I achieved two distinctions (General and Science papers).
In 2015, I successfully completed a Translation Retraining Course (Belisha Beacon, Prague) comprising 121 lessons on business and legal translation. I continue to expand my translation skills by taking part in CPD courses and workshops (e.g. Clinical Trials Terminology workshop - Belisha Beacon, Prague; Design and Interpretation of Clinical Trials - Coursera; Clinical Terminology for International and U.S. Students - Coursera). I have been providing translation services to various clients in the UK and the Czech Republic (solicitors - expert witness's reports in personal injury claims; bank - weekly commodity reports; hospitals; city councils; schools; health and fitness industry, etc.). |
