Hi there! My name is Raisa. I specialize in various fields of translation, but rest assured it is because I was lucky enough to have a high variety of work experience and education background.
A little bit of background history, I have two Bachelor degrees: in International Relations-Parahyangan Catholic University (GPA 3.81 out of 4) and Mathematics-Bandung Institute of Technology/ITB (GPA 3.25 out of 4). I also won the Student Mobility Endeavour Scholarship from the Australian government to do a one year exchange at Flinders University, Adelaide (GPA 6.47 out of 7).
As for my english qualification, I have an IELTS score of 8.5 (out of 9), TOEFL score of 643 (out of 677) and spent 4 years of my childhood in Australia.
Work experience wise, I have more than 8 years of experience in the translation and language editing industry. I was an Executive Translator for an oil and gas company and an in-house translator/interpreter in the Diplomatic Security Services-Embassy of the United States of America in Jakarta. In addition to that, I have also translated books and proofreading of international journals for Gramedia Pustaka Utama, Erlangga, GIZ, IAG, Asia Foundation, Polling Centre, eni Indonesia, Open Data Lab and Compassion. Earlier in my career, I was a freelance translator for 4.5 years at an NGO called Compassion which strives to eliminate poverty and provide education opportunities for Indonesian children.
As for interpreting, I have vast experience in simultaneous and consecutive interpreting. I have assisted the US Embassy, GIZ, IAG, eni Indonesia, Open Data Lab and Compassion in countless training, meeting and seminars (international level, using UN HQ level equipment) involving both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting. The setting ranges from a shooting range to a five star hotel, from Jakarta to Papua.
