My efficient and reliable language abilities go beyond the formal education received from the University of Toronto where my minor concentrated on the Turkish language and from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I am currently working on my MA in Translation and Interpreting. I am a native speaker of American English. My primary experience with the Turkish language derives from living, visiting, and attending immersion courses in Turkey over the past 9 years. Marrying into a Turkish family 8 years ago has also forced me into very interesting cultural situations involving the Istanbul and Afyon region dialects. Also, I am familiar with northern dialects. In addition to my experience with the Turkish language I have also worked with a small American business that specialized in antiques and home products: advertising, product descriptions, customer service, and logistics. Currently I live in Virginia, minutes from Washington D.C.
