Experience
Years of experience: 11. Registered at ProZ.com: Dec 2016.
With nearly a decade of experience, I have been dedicated to the field of interpretation and translation since 2013. Holding official registration as a sworn interpreter and translator at Istanbul Notary since 2014, alongside registration at the esteemed Western Cape High Court in South Africa, I bring a wealth of expertise to both written and verbal translation.
In addition to my linguistic proficiency, I am a qualified lawyer admitted to the Istanbul Bar, thus possessing specialized skills in legal document translation. My professional journey has seen me contribute significantly to renowned firms such as Ernst&Young and Intertrust Group, where my role as a corporate lawyer provided me with invaluable insights into corporate and business practices.
My advisory role encompassed a broad spectrum, advising both national and international clientele across corporate/commercial law, M&A, tax law, employment law, immigration law, and compliance matters. My repertoire includes drafting and translating a myriad of corporate documents, from board of directors’ resolutions to annual financial reports and share purchase agreements. I have adeptly navigated complex legal landscapes, overseeing due diligence reports, reviewing agreements, and representing clients in court proceedings.
Moreover, my extensive involvement in the establishment of a foreign bank project in Turkey has endowed me with a nuanced understanding of banking law. As a relationship manager and lawyer at Intertrust, a Dutch-based consultancy firm, I facilitated seamless legal operations for multinational and local clients, providing counsel on compliance matters, cross-border transactions, and business development initiatives.
In my capacity, I have spearheaded co-sec works, company formations, and negotiated escrow agreements, demonstrating a multifaceted skill set that combines legal acumen with linguistic finesse. As the primary liaison for legal matters, I have fostered enduring relationships and ensured the successful execution of diverse projects, underscoring my commitment to excellence in both legal and linguistic realms.
