Diane Oatley is an independent scholar, writer and translator. Born in the US, she moved to Norway in 1982, and in 1990 completed a Masters in comparative literature at the University of Oslo. She has worked with the translation of Norwegian fiction and non-fiction into English since 1999, with a long list of translated titles to her name. In 2014 she received NORLA’s annual translator’s award for non-fiction. She is a member of the Norwegian Non-fiction Translators Association and the Norwegian chapter of P.E.N.
