Bio

I was born in France and lived in Los Angeles for 10 years before emigrating to Vancouver, British Columbia where I have been living for 15 years.

Not long ago, I was a web and graphic designer. I decided to make a career change for something I always really enjoyed doing: translation. From my homework in junior high in France translating Latin into French, to translating a book about the Golden Age of the American Cinema from English to French for my own pleasure and to improve my English vocabulary, I always loved the process of using THIS part of my brain. In my work environment, I have always been the go-to person anytime some English language knowledge was needed.

More recently, I translated the subtitles of a feature (90 minutes) documentary film called "From Cairo to the cloud - The World of the Cairo Genizah".

I am currently enrolled in the Baccalaureate in Translation at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. I am a beginner at the professional level, my goal being to become a member of the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia, and of OTTIAQ.

I am interested in ornithology, conservation, the European middle-Ages, museology, literature, art, Russia, the Arctic, human rights organizations, and a lot of other things — I just listed the big favourites here.

I have been a birdwatcher since 1998 in Los Angeles where I discovered, to my great surprise, hummingbirds. I am now birdwatching in the Pacific Northwest where I still encounter hummingbirds along with bald eagles, short-eared owls, northern harriers, Steller's jays, and many more.

I am looking forward to starting my new career!
