Bio
Between 1997 and 2003 I was an English teacher at a small Secondary School in Iceland. During that time I was also a freelance translator in my spare time, or since 1996. Since mid-year 2003, however, I have been a full-time translator.
I hold a BA degree in English and Comparative Literature, with an emphasis on translation theory and translation studies. My (specialization) is literature, but I have as well gained experience in general texts, along with texts concerning business, telecommunications and marketing. Certainly I feel more comfortable translating into Icelandic, but having been translating texts on the aluminium industry, hydropower, and fish farming, from Icelandic into English as a subcontractor to an Icelandic translation service run by an English native speaker, I feel pretty comfortable with that as well.
I am currently studying for my MA degree in English and Translation Studies.
