I am a freelance translator and interpreter based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I translate German>English and Swedish>English and work with German<>English as a conference or public service interpreter. In 2000 I gained an Honours degree from the University of Edinburgh in German and Scandinavian Studies and I spent the next three-four years living and working in Germany as an English teacher. I have also worked as a Scottish tour guide. In 2005 I gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Interpreting and Translating from the University of Salford and in 2006 I obtained the Chartered Institue of Linguists Diploma in Publice Service Interpreting (English and Welsh Law).

I will listen to any job offers and have translated all kinds of documents including business contracts, insurance policies, training manuals, tourist brochures, hotel websites, EU related materials, property adverts, marketing material, sports bulletins. My favoured translation subjects include tourism, marketing, business, travel, politics, international relations, ecology. property (real estate), advertising and sport.
