Ziya is an articulate and native-level speaker of English and Turkish, with an intimate understanding of the two cultures. Based in England, he has more than fifteen years of experience working as a full-time professional interpreter & translator. 

For many years, Ziya has regularly worked with some of the largest companies in the world, including Turkish and UK Fortune 500-listed companies. He is their choice for expertly rendered translations that read as though they had been originally written in the target language. He has extensive experience with a wide variety of material; including diplomatic / high-level business correspondence, legal documents (including relating to international disputes), technical content (such as engineering reports, user manuals, implementation of automation in industrial facilities, Industry 4.0), and medical articles.  

He has participated in literary translation projects. He has contributed to numerous printed publications in the field of modern art. He has worked as the subeditor for a high-end Turkish-language publication. On occasion, he has undertaken the role of assessing the work of translators. 

Ziya has a Master’s Degree in conference interpreting. As a conference interpreter, he has worked extensively in the UK, Europe, Turkey, and the Middle East. He has served the highest level of representatives of the Turkish and UK governments in a variety of settings, including diplomatic visits, cross-party debates, and delegations from Turkey on official tours in the UK and Europe. He has worked at management committee meetings, and in private business settings. He regularly provides remote interpreting services (RSI) using various platforms, including Interprefy, Zoom, and Interactio.   

His experience includes interpreting at the European Parliament in Brussels; the Home Office headquarters in London; and interpreting at all levels of courts in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland (including the International Dispute Resolution Centre in London, for International Chamber of Commerce hearings). He has regularly assisted the British security forces, and has interpreted at government and council offices, hospitals (including high-security hospitals), detention centres, and prisons. He has assisted in interviews carried out by the UK Borders Agency (UKBA) in relation to immigration matters.

Ziya has experience in the recording studio; among the companies he has worked for as a voice-over artist, he can count Rosetta Stone, Microsoft and Cisco.
