IT certifications: CompTIA A+, HDI CSR, ITIL v3 Foundation

April 2012: In 2006, I put together a new commercial website offering Trados MultiTerm termbases I've created for a nominal fee. The available formats are Excel, Word or MultiTerm 5.5 which can be converted to the most recent format using MultiTerm Convert. The breadth and expanse of these glossaries run from 8500 entries for the smallest to more than 20,000 entries for the largest in the following fields: Medical, IT, Business and Technical. You can see a small representative sample of the content of these glossaries on the Proz.com website. The URL is http://www.virtual-terminologist.com. Take a look. Beginning in February 2005 I began to translate supporting documents for Washington Law, a firm that specializes in asylum claims. A partila list of clients includes Schreiber Translations, DatFrance, Omnia Group, Millipore S.A.S., Lionbridge, Celer Pawlowski and Translated.net In January 2003, I was certified by Bowne Global Solutions (now part of Lionbridge) as an immigration court interpreter. The summer of 2002 I worked at the State Department(US Govt) where I prepared documents for import into the Trados Multiterm database. Depending on the document types, I had to formulate the procedure for doing so from scratch(that is, none of the glossaries were created with the purpose of their later being imported into any termbase whatsoever and they represented over 25 years of State Dept. translators' work). Afterwards, I imported all the documents into the database and performed editing. From 2009 I participated in the NVTC Translation Memory Workgroup that was exploring ways to incorporate CAT tools into their workflow. More recently, I have worked on confidential/classified files for various US Govt. agencies ranging from maritime to civil aviation subject matter. My basic rate is 0.11 $ per source word. For editing/proofreading it is 0.03$/word.
Non translation related tid-bit: I am a published poet. I have also studied Chinese but I am not as of yet proficient.
I use the following software: SDL Trados 2007; Studio 2011; Office 2010; Mac OS 10.9 edition, Microsoft Project Manager; HTML; Adobe Photoshop; Wordfast, Fluency, Similis, OmegaT, Lokalize (Linux)
