Born in Chile into a multicultural family and raised in New Zealand, I grew up speaking Spanish and English (my native languages), as well as some French and German.
From 1998-2000 I worked for a London-based language agency, both as a translator and an interpreter. I have since lived and worked as a translator, interpreter and English teacher in the UK, Spain, France and Chile. In the past five years I have been working increasingly in the audiovisual industry, subtitling documentaries and corporate videos into English, Spanish and French.
For several years I translated most of the website contents of the Patagonian Expedition Race and Patagonia Photosafaris, and have worked for the World Wildlife Foundation in the translation of adventure tourism and conservation projects located at the southernmost tip of South America.
An enthusiastic reader, writer and traveller with a wide range of interests, I am passionate about exploring new fields and finding interesting ways to enhance the quality of my translations. I see myself as an "intercultural translator", rather than just a translator of languages, and believe this is where I can really make a difference when it comes to providing a reliable, well-written translation.
