Hello everyone,

Whenever I try to open the following file with Trados 2015 or 2017, I get a "Corrupt file: Missing tag information for tag with id: 'bold'" error message:

Hello everyone,

Whenever I try to open the following file with Trados 2015 or 2017, I get a "Corrupt file: Missing tag information for tag with id: 'bold'" error message:

I've heard about this problem with Trados 2011, but SDL says the issue was fixed with an update. Any idea on how to solve this with Trados 2015 or 2017?

Thank you!

Alain

Resolve in the Editor Dec 16, 2016

Hi Alain,
I guess your file has been converted to translatable in the target language, if not you'll have to ask SDL to resolve. If your file doesn't import at all, a quick help for you - if you have that freedom and if it's a MS-Office file - is to save it to a prior version, *.doc, *.xls etc., then once your project is finished you save it again as docx, xlsx etc. Generally this will remove very special formatting that has nothing directly to do with text and text styles. Hi Alain,
I guess your file has been converted to translatable in the target language, if not you'll have to ask SDL to resolve. More simple is to ask your client to re-send you the file.
All this is only a 'quick help' that allows you to start working, if persistant, then ask SDL.

Error messages must be handled in the editor prior of exporting documents, and the preview will not work until you resolve the error.
With tag related errors, the easiest way is to copy source to target, this ensures that all tags are at the right place and complete. Then, complete the translation between the tags and confirm the segment; the error message for that segment should then dissapear and you can start the preview again (unless there are other segments with errors which you then need to resolve).

Greetings,
Mike
