My name is Sophia Tao, and I am the teacher in charge of group English training at Talking Street English. Talking Street is a first-class English training school in Ningbo that has been in operation for more than 7 years. We have provided English training to the staff at many top international corporations, Fortune Global 500 corporations, and foreign trade companies, including Sinopec, LG, Joyson Holding Co., Yuanda Group and others. We have also been chosen to provide staff English training at public institutions such as the municipal government, the district government, the Ningbo Daily newspaper, and so on. Sinopec and LG have been enjoying our services for over three years.
It was a great honor to talk to you on the telephone. You mentioned doing on-site staff English training at your company. However, based on my years of experience doing corporate English training, I do not recommend this route. The reasons are as follows:
1. Enterprises suitable for on-site staff training:
Generally speaking, the English requirements of, for example, the hotel service industry follow a fixed pattern of simple dialogues and the like. This type of lesson is much more amenable to on-site staff training, and we do provide that service for some companies such as New Century Hotels, Portman Hotels, and so on.
2. Enterprises unsuitable for on-site staff training:
Businesses that require a mastery of professional business English, such as foreign trade companies, are not a good fit for on-site service, for the following reasons:
i. At trade companies, the staff needs a very professional level of English, and especially spoken English. If they only receive on-site training, they will not be able to improve their speaking ability very much, because they will have a lot of listening practice, but little practice actually speaking.
ii. Having many different employees with different schedules and availabilities being expected to attend training at the same time can lead to some staff members being absent from the training.
iii. Because many employees’ English proficiency levels may be different going in, some staff members may not be able to effectively improve their English when they are all in the same class together.
The fact is that although some companies choose to follow through with on-site group training, in reality the results achieved by such a program are miniscule, and these courses are often simply a waste of company resources.
3. Regarding trade-oriented enterprises specifically, while they are not suitable for centralized staff training, they are perfect for individual training. We at Talking Street can provide them with an exceptional quality of customized individual training. Advantages include the following:
i. If a group from the same company signs up together, they can receive a discount.
ii. Your employees can arrange their classes in accordance with their own schedules, so they can improve their English easily without adversely affecting their work or personal life.
iii. Each individual can be enrolled in a course appropriate for his or her current ability level, making the training much more effective.
iv. At Talking Street English, we offer class sizes of only two to four students per class. Additionally, our courses are professionally taught via English immersion by foreign teachers, which allows students’ comprehensive English level and speaking ability to improve as well.
v. In addition to their main courses, for example Business English, Talking Street students are provided with numerous elective courses covering all kinds of English scenarios, as well as special extra-curricular activities held once to twice a month. This style of immersion in an all-English atmosphere helps provide enough oral English practice to be conducive to true English proficiency.
vi. At Talking Street English, every student is served by 3 professional teachers: a one-on-one course consultant; a one-on-one Chinese teacher; and of course a foreign teacher, with approximately 4 students per class.
At Talking Street English, our goal is for every student to reap great rewards. We always try our best to satisfy every student with the training offered. In addition, we have an extensive service and support system, including individual student files, attendance records, student manuals, and week-at-a-time arrangement of study plans.
In sum, we are sincerely looking forward to your staff accepting our group training price for a full range of English training courses. In the meantime, we sincerely invite you and your colleagues to visit our school. It will be my pleasure to receive you, show you around our facilities, and then arrange appropriate courses for each staff member, according to his or her individual needs and abilities.
Best regards,
Sophia,
Talking Street English

Caught between a cliff and the vast sea, the deer suddenly stopped and turned back to look at the hunter with her clear eyes. The hunter put an arrow to his bow but found himself unable to shoot the beautiful deer. Suddenly, there was a flash of fire and smoke and the deer turned into a beautiful woman. Later the hunter and the deer maiden married and had many children. These children would eventually become the Li people. It is for this reason that Sanya is known as “The Deer City”.
