English to Italian: On Hydrocarbons General field: Tech/Engineering Detailed field: Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
Source text - English 1. The display of molecules – overview on isomers
Before talking about hydrocarbons, it would be better to explain from a geometrical point of view the display of atoms which make a molecule. For energetic reasons, the atoms which make molecules of any chemical compound lay in the space in a well-defined way. This layout implies that compounds with the same formula can have different behaviours, both physical and chemical.
For example, maleic acid and fumaric acid, even if they both have molecular formula C4H4O4, they are greatly different from each other.
In this case, the inversion of the group COOH with the atom H of an acid compared to the other makes them completely different.
This type of different space “arrangement” is called “stereo isomerism”. There are other types of isomerism, like “structural” isomerism and “conformational” isomerism. These last isomerisms are different space arrangements which some atoms, parts of the molecule, can have with the same formula.
Translation - Italian 1.

Source text - English TYPE XXXX
This is a single-seat, globe-type invertible valve. With a suitable type of actuator, air action may be reversed (from “air to close” to “air to open”) by rotating the valve 180° around the axis of the connections.
This type of valve, whose plug is both top and bottom guided, is generally used when tight seal is required at closed valve (in fact, the 1000’s seal corresponds to XXXX Class IV). Perfect seal may also be achieved by adopting a plug with a soft insert (PTFE or other elastomers, depending on the properties of the process fluid and operating conditions).

English to Italian: The Karmapas General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Religion
Source text - English The sixteenth Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, was born at Denkhok in Derge province in east Tibet. Jampal Tsultrim, the fifteenth Karmapa's personal attendant, had been entrusted by his master with a letter setting forth the circumstances of his new incarnation. Jampal Tsultrim now handed this letter to the authorities at Tsurphu monastery, who - having had Beru Khyentse, Situpa and Jamgon Kontrul clarify certainpoints - sent out the search-party which successfully located the child. He was taken to Palpung Monastery where Situ Pema Wangchuk gave him ordination, bodhisattva promises, and many teachings. In addition, Beru Khyentse Lodro Mizat Jampa'i Gocha taught him the Tantra, Bo Kangkar Rinpoche taught him the sutras, and Jamgon Palden Kyentse Oser taught him Mahamudra and the Six Yogas of Naropa.

German to Italian: Der Altar General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Religion
Translation - Italian L'altare buddhista ordinario consiste di diversi gruppi di oggetti.
