فأقبل البيزنطيون بسفنهم نحو طرابلس ظنًا منهم أنها سقطت بيد قائدهم. وعند وصولهم علموا بوقوع البطريق "دواميس" في قبضة المسلمين، فأعظموا ذلك وانحلت عزائمهم.

I think

البطريق

is a typo for

البطريرك.

Could that be possible? And what can "دواميس" be?
