Finnish term
Ruska
Finnish to English
Other
Environment & Ecology
Autumn/fall
Here's a topical term. This is a term I have translated in a number of different ways over the years. I would be more than interested to hear what you have used or would use!
Ruska also occurs in a number of English-speaking countries, but I have never heard an accurate translation.

A more poetic translation might serve your purpose: the russet hues of autumn?

Thanks. Although an accurate translation, this still does not do it justice. The period I am talking about is a brief high season for tourism in Lapland. The colours are very vibrant if compared to e.g. Central Europe. |

: And "fall colors" in U.S. English. "The autumn colours of Lapland" does imply a spectacle of nature, not just leaves turning brown. Maybe you could say the autumn colours of "nature" or even "wilderness" if a place isn't specified.

Thanks. These are all pretty common translations, but none are accurate enough, as the difference between autumn in Central Europe and Lapland is huge. |
I am not looking for Google answers, I can do that myself. I need you to think what the best translation could be. |
