From a 1940 letter, written by a Jewish woman in Vienna:

"Auch meine Kleider und Schöße habe ich durchwegs enger und kürzer machen lassen, so daß ich wieder halbwegs zusammengestampert bin."

I do know from Wolfgang Teuschl's Wiener Dialekt Lexikon, that Schoß = Frauenrock, but I haven't been able to find zusammengestampert anywhere. Any ideas?

Sounds a bit like "zusammenschustern," thought that's quite negative. I'd say it's more like "...sodass mir jetzt alles wieder halbwegs passt."

That could, again, be interpreted as "zusammengestampft" or "zusammengestaucht," which is why you look like you've been "made shorter" now.

Phil, if you reopen your link and look at the next word, it's "zusammenstampfen"; that can be used in almost the same way as another word in your list, which is "zusammenstauchen." There, it also says: "jemand zurechtweisen, beschimpfen" initially and (ignoring "sich unschön, unvorteilhaft kleiden," since that obviously doesn't work here) "durch Stauchen zusammendrücken" last.

There's the German idiom "einen Kopf kürzer machen," which fits both the first and second meaning mentioned above. You can see the connection here, for example:
"Ich habe gesehen, dass die jungen Mädchen so gnadenlos zusammengestampert werden. Die Burschen auch auf eine eigene Art, aber die Mädchen noch viel mehr. Wenn die Mädchen beginnen aufzublühen und zu denken, sie können wild sein und frei sein, dann wird da wird gnadenlos draufgedroschen."

I think "pulled together" works pretty well in this context, based on a number of uses of that phrase I found online! For example: "To be 'pulled together' in this context means that everything that you are wearing is coordinated and works well together to create an ensemble."
