وأكد رئيس الهيئة المستقلة للانتخاب على أهمية عقد هذا اللقاء والذي يأتي ضمن توجيهات الهيئة في الانفتاح على الشركاء خصوصاً في ضوء توسيع صلاحيات الهيئة وتغيير الدور المناط بها دستورياً من الاشراف على الانتخابات البلدية الى ادارتها، وفي ضوء استعداد الهيئة ورفع جاهزيتها للقيام بهذا الدور .
وتم خلال اللقاء مناقشة العديد من المحاور المتعلقة بالانتخابات البلدية كالتشريعات الناظمة للانتخابات البلدية ( القانون والانظمة والادلة)، والخطوات المتبعة في ذلك الحين والمتعلقة بكافة مراحل العملية الانتخابية والتي أجريت بموجبها الانتخابات البلدية لعام 2013 .
وفي نهاية اللقاء الذي عقد بدعم من المؤسسة الدولية للنظم الانتخابية دار نقاش موسع تمت فيه الاجابة على اسئلة ومداخلات الحضور بالاضافة الى التركيز على نقاط القوة والضعف وتعزيز الايجابيات وتجنب السلبيات .
ترجمة - أنجليزي The Independent Election Commission (IEC) held a meeting on Monday, 06/04/2015 with a number of those who were in charge of the previous municipal elections, like Mr. Ahed zeyadat Assistant Secretary-General, Ministry of Municipal Affairs and a number of heads of committees of the municipal elections, namely Dr Fawaz al-Tamimi, Omar al-Faqih, and Ziad Abu Zaid, in order to get municipal election experience and study the strengths and weaknesses and key challenges faced and accompanied in those elections which were held on --------.
The President of the IEC asserted on the importance of holding this meeting, which comes under the guidance of the Commission to open up to partners, especially in light of the expansion of the powers of the commission and change the constitutionally entrusted role of supervising and managing municipal elections, as well as in the light of the willingness of the commission and its readiness to perform this role.
During the meeting they discussed a number of topics related to the municipal elections such as legislation governing municipal elections (law and regulations and evidence), and the steps involved at that time and related to all stages of the electoral process under which the municipal elections were held in 2013.
The end of the meeting, which was held with the support of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, witnessed an expanded discussion in which questions and interventions of the audience were answered in the addition to focusing on strengths and weaknesses, strengthening the pros and avoiding the cons.

For close to a decade, nationally recognized XXXX Cord Blood Educator Mary Schneider has been championing the benefits of storing umbilical cord blood. But when she gave birth to her son, Ryan 12 years ago, she had no idea the turn her life would take.
Although Mary's pregnancy and Ryan's birth were both completely normal, she began to notice that Ryan was experiencing some developmental challenges. Then, when Ryan was just a year old, she received the diagnosis that no parent ever wants to hear—he had a mild to moderate case of cerebral palsy. It's not hard to imagine how this changed Mary's world. However, she had had the foresight to store Ryan's umbilical cord blood, and after extensive research, Mary found that cord blood could be used to treat cerebral palsy.
In fact, in 2005 when Ryan was 3, he became the first child to receive his own cord blood at Duke University, in what is now an ongoing study for children with cerebral palsy that have access to their own cord blood. Ryan was cleared of all his symptoms shortly after his transplant and is a happy, healthy, 12 year-old today.
"A brighter future is ahead for Ryan because I made the decision to bank his precious cord blood stem cells. Now many other children could also have the opportunity to live fuller lives when their parents make the same wise choice. Banking your child's stem cells is the best insurance."
