Hi all, the above sentence is confusing me. Was the expert appointed by the provincial-executives "and the executive board respectively"?
"Or/as the case may be" don't make much sense, since the expert has already been appointed.

From what I've read, they are both the same thing: "Het college van Gedeputeerde Staten (GS) vormt het dagelijks bestuur van de provincie"

agree Barend van Zadelhoff : "gedeputeerde staten" and "het dagelijks bestuur"are not the same thing. I would suggest, depending on the complete context, 'or' or 'respectively' as a translation. 'and' as a translation is incorrect.
