English to German Tech/Engineering Petroleum Eng/Sci Vakuumdestillation

Hallo,
Ich habe in erster Linie ein Verständnisproblem. Es geht um mögliche Störungen an Strahlpumpen/Ejektoren in Vakuumdestillationsanlagen in Raffinerien.

Mein Text:
A suction nozzle is strategically placed at the point where the motive steam is at minimum pressure and maximum velocity, which allows displacement of the steam and off-gases from the top section of the tower at minimum pressure. The converging-diverging section of the ejector converts the fluid’s kinetic energy back to pressure energy, consistent with Bernoulli’s principle. Thermocompression occurs as thermodynamic conditions allow for a ***sonic boost*** in the ejector’s throat and a velocity boost in the diverging part of the machine.

und:

Off-sets at the ejectors will cause a sudden loss of the ***sonic boost***, a gradual loss of velocity boosts and a corresponding increase in vacuum tower pressure.

und:
The maximum discharge pressure (MDP) shown on the adjacent performance curve corresponds to the highest pressure at which the ejector can discharge and still deliver the required ***sonic boost*** and velocity boost.

Ich weiß nicht, was "sonic boost" bedeutet. Die Tatsache, dass es einen Turnschuh von Adidas mit diesem Namen gibt, erleichtert die Recherche nicht wirklich.
