Policy Briefing

English to Urdu Other Media / Multimedia Journalism
Some media groups declare their policy in a particular context and the declaration is known as 'policy briefing'. The dictionaries suggest " policy ki mukhtsar/buniadi hadayat" but I don't think the hadayat would work here properly. Because these are not instructions indeed. The audience for this translation is an average reader. So,please suggest a suitable Urdu term in this context. I have consulted all available dictionaries but no one seem to consider this context of the term.

Does not necessarily mean 'giving instructions' Basit sahib, the examples in your given link say a briefing is giving "information" OR "instructions," so it does not necessarily mean giving instructions...it could be just just giving summarized information as present context suggests.

Thanks Lenguamundo but I don't think hadayat would serve the purpose as mentioned in my original posting.

Khulasa is better choice as compared to hidayat. Jame( Comprehensive) reflects the meaning of (mukhtasar+buniadi).

"Jame" is used in the meaning of "concise+comprehensive". Policy briefing is although a summary, yet "concise and comprehensive" including all the necessary information but a brief extract as a whole. It is a summary including all the important info.
