Volunteer Activities in [Prefecture's Name]:

This type of 'kenkatsu' is a difficult one in English. Saitama's web page has 'Prefectural Citizen's Activities' (http://www.kenkatsu.or.jp/). But that sounds fairly stilted.

Looking at the type of activities that fall under this title it's mostly volunteer work, so perhaps 'volunteer activities' is a more natural fit.

Example activities: http://www.kenmin.pref.yamaguchi.lg.jp/kokai/hokoku/hokoku.p...

Hope that helps!

Peer comment(s):

agree Harumi Uemura : This sounds good to me. I think it's good you point out it's volunteer activity.

agree Teddy Okuyama (X) : I agree but you're missing the 「の実践活動」. Therefore, the full phrase would read "Efforts to implement volunteer activities in [Prefecture's Name]"
