How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

@ Claudia I see, I thought you meant you translated into English for the Scandinavians. I can only give the opinion of a UK speaker though, English is English and if a Scandinavian speaks English slightly differently, it is not perfect English but a broken, incorrect usage of the language. If you would rather translate this incorrect style that is your choice. However, the fact remains that this adjective "academic" is being used as a qualifier to the term. I am not disagreeing with the rest of your translation, I am only pointing out a grammatical detail which, in Norwegian English, would still be incorrect.

That is fine. I am not disagreeing with your answer, just giving a UK English opinion. However the fact remains that the term "academic" in this case is being used to qualify the phrase and not as a complete title of the course/studies.
Regarding translating recipients, if you translate diplomas for these Scandinavian people is the aim not to eventually pass these on to English speaking people/institutions? I wouldn't translate into a non-native speakers version of my own language.

@Lara The "recipient" is not always a native speaker of English. I have translated many diplomas for people who went to Norway, Denmark, Holland or Germany. A translation that sounds "over-explanatory" for a native speaker might be just "explanatory" for a non native speaker of English.

Post graduate studies/courses Both the terms below are correct as we use them in UK. However, the full explanation of "academic post..." seen in the link provided by Claudia is unnecessary. The text is using "academic" here to qualify the term "post graduate studies". It is is usually understood that post graduate studies contain a large academic portion to the work. Either entry is correct, but from the small amount of context provided, it does look like "academic" would not be necessary.
