This is actually from a risk of excluded risks in an insurance policy (Spain), and I suspect there's more to it than simply "thread lace". I found "gimp lace" but I'm not sure.

As far as I can gather, encaje de hilo refers to the technique. Please see reference below where "tatting" has been described as "encaje de hilo" the product is called "tatted lace" (please see Wikipedia ref)

: For the sake of generality I would rather use "thread lace". In Spanish, "hilo" is sometimes used for "linen" (flax thread), but it always means thread.
