Spanish term

Ley de Acefalía

Spanish to English Social Sciences Law (general)
I'd be really grateful for the precise term in English

Although the **Ley de Acefalía** authorized the new President to complete De la Rua´s mandate, the loss of prestige of the political leadership persuaded Duhalde to call for elections.

Thanks in advance

I don't usually explain jokes, but I think you missed it and I don't want you to be offended.

I agree. I had prepared a 'Silly me!' type comment in response to Edward's answer, also mentioning the inclusion of 'presidential', but got interrupted by a phone call.

I feel embarrassed, but in no way insulted!
philgoddard Apr 18, 2014:
This question is a no-brainer :-)
(That is a joke, not an insult, in case anyone is thinking of deleting it.)
philgoddard Apr 17, 2014:
I'd leave it in Spanish with an explanation. I assume you've Googled it and know what it is.

Law of Succession

I agree with Phil that the original can be left as is, but an explanation is always necessary...

A belated thank you, Edward
Peer comment(s):

agree Charles Davis : I'd suggest Law of Presidential Succession, which is what it's about (succession alone might be misunderstood). The exact equivalent US Statute is called the Presidential Succession Act of 1947.
