"Rabbel" here is, I am fairly certain, in the sense of "rabbla upp", mechanically recite or list. You might "rabbla upp" the alphabet etc.
So, guessing at the context, I think the reviewer is praising the writer for having managed to make his subject interesting, when it might so easily have been just a boring list of comparisons.

A typically Swedish composite word. If it has a particular colloquial meaning, I'm afraid I'm not aware of it. Its two components translate as "rabble" and "comparison" and without knowing anything more about the work to which this refers, that is all I can suggest.
