When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

Au Canada anglais, cela correspond à la septième année de scolarité, soit la première année du High school. On parle donc ici d'élèves agés entre 12-14 ans.
Au Québec, le terme exacte serait secondaire 1. Car le Québec possède un système scolaire différent du reste du Canada. Mais, le secondaire correspond au High school, seulement les anglophones du reste du pays on une années de plus à la fin.
Aux USA, c'est aussi le High School et cela pourrait être rendu par la septième année de scolarité ou lors de ma première année au High school.

All i said was to write an translator note with the age of the corresponding studdent, since we don not know who is the public for that text.

The question is not to know what exactly it is in English but a way to render the text correctly in French. So I thinkg my suggestion for a translator note, explaining the age of these studdents is good enough to help.
