La 'scare card' es una carta que está descubierta sobre la mesa y que los jugadores deben utilizar para su mano. Te adjunto dos definiciones que he encontrado en glosarios de poker:
Scare Card: A scare card is a card placed on the board that has the potential to significantly improve someone's hand. For example, if the board is Ah Kh 5d, a Th would be a scare card. That ten would complete both a flush draw or a straight draw.
Scare cards often present excellent bluffing opportunities for players.
Scare Card
A card which may well turn the best hand into trash. If you have Tc-8c and the flop comes Qd- Jd-9s, you almost assuredly have the best hand. However, a turn card of Td would be very scary because it would almost guarantee that you are now beaten.
En cuanto a 'old hand', suele referirse a una persona que ha jugado mucho al póker y lo conoce bien; pero en este caso no estoy segura y es posible que se refiera ciertamente a que se subiría la apuesta incluso teniendo una mano que no fuera muy buena (-> de ahí mi sugerencia 'una mano cualquiera').
