Bonjour,
Two ‘Green Eye’ wire detectors are used to determine when the wire has run out.
Merci pour votre aide,
Jean-Michel

"Magic Eyes" or "eye tubes" are weird and cool miniature CRTs that were used instead of analog meters or bar-graph displays back in pre-LED days. They were used mostly as tuning indicators on old radios, but sometimes you see them as green-glowing bar-graph audio meters on stereo equipment.
Most of them were just triode vacuum tubes with phosphor on the anode so it glowed green under electron bombardment... with a floating wire in front of the flourescent screen to cast an electron-shadow of the thin wire. Charge the wire negative, and its electron-shadow becomes much thicker as electrons are repelled. >>>>Looks like a glowing green eye with a black slot-pupil <<< that can change size instantly as different voltages are applied.
