Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (1): Stephen Sadie

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

German term (edited): klanglich and durchdacht,

powerful and subtle

I think that's what they are trying to say. "Loud but smart"
Sonorous reminds me more of singers, somehow. I may be wrong. Sophisticated? No. Subtle.

To enjoy melodious and subtle bass, check out someone who I think is one of the best masters of his craft:

HTH in any which way :)
Peer comment(s):

agree Laurel Porter (X) : In the absence of further context, I vote for this one - "well thought out" is too literal, IMO. Not a phrase typically used in music reviews.

Precisely ;-) Thanks Laurel
agree IanW (X) : Agree with Laurel (as a bass-player, I'd take "subtle" as a great compliment) / Lead, rhythm and bass - I used to play the triangle, but the only problem I had was coming in at the right time ...

Cheers Ian. I thought you played lead? Added: Triangle, problems? Is that what they call premature tintinnabulation? :)

thanks a lot brigitte
agree ------ (X) : Yes, but I suppose the original says "klanglich durchdacht", so the rendering would be slightly different.

German term (edited): klanglich and durchdacht,

good-sounding and well-thought out

"good-sounding" is probably better, especially if this review is aimed at a wide audience. It's not exactly accurate, but "well-designed" might sound better instead of "well-thought-out".

Hyphens are optional in the phrase "well thought out". The second most common seems to be "well thought-out", like the original answer.
