neck pain
I had a translation recently in which I opted to use "neck pain" instead of "cervicalgia" for a number of reasons. One of my main reasons for doing so was that PubMed, the US National Library of Medicine/National Institutes of Health scientific literature site (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?DB=pubmed), utilizes "neck pain" as the primary heading, with other variants such as cervicodynia, cervicalgia, and so on listed as alternates. In addition, a PubMed search for literature on cervicalgia brings up documents that almost all refer to the phenomenon as simply "neck pain."
