I am transcribing the latest programme of 'In out time' entitled INDIAN MATHS and have encountered words which for me are unintelligible.
One of them is the person’s name 'Cedillo' or something like that. Can anybody confirm or clarify me on that one? The surrounding text is as follows:
DENNIS ALMEIDA: In the 19th century you find kind of explicit vocations of this kind of attitude, there were people like [(38:41); I have no idea. Cedillo???] the kind of talking in quite reprehensible terms about Brahmins and their filthy habits and their superstitious ideas, and even claiming that the Indian number system was kind of derived form the Roman number system ...
I think that that forum is the best place to find someone who can help me in finding the person's name.
I am transcribing the programme for translating it later into polish, so I must have the complete text without any gaps.
Thanks in advance. Darek
PS. You can download or listen to the programme here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/history/inourtime/inourtime.shtm...
