English term

taped out

English Tech/Engineering IT (Information Technology) chips
SAN JOSE, Calif. ABC Inc. has entered into the 45-nm era, with a 40-nm device possibly looming on the horizon.
ABC (San Diego) announced that its first 45-nm chip has **taped out.** The undisclosed chip is made on a foundry basis by XYZ Co. Ltd. This could also be one of XYZ's first 45-nm devices.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've noticed that technical terms in English are usually left the same. So when in doubt, you can always rely on katakana!
