Anaesthetics' quick trip across the ocean

English Science History ANAESTHETICS
19:53, 20:10 timestamps. The first timestamp - expression "sthg. winds across to", in this context, seems to me very unusual. For the second one, I am not sure at all, if there should be ((same waits)) put in here.

ANNE HARDY: ... And Morton took up on this idea and went home, and did some experiments himself using his family pets, involving soaking rags, and so on, in ether, and even having ether in balls, and holding a pet dog over this until it became unconscious. And having done the series of experiments, which are by no means scientific, he then used ether in his dental practice. Successfully.

MELVYN BRAGG: And his demonstration was a great success.

STEPHANIE SNOW: And his demons- --. And he then (()) eyed the main chance, arranged for a public demonstration at Massachusetts General Hospital in front of Boston’s medical elite, and that was a success, and at that moment it takes off.

MELVYN BRAGG: It does, yes. It takes up-- it 19:53 ((winds)) across to London, David Wilkinson, with the speed of light, doesn’t it. And what happens is that they are waiting, they are onto it, aren’t they? The doctor is Robinson, and who? Liston was he? Doctor and the dentist. Yeah.

DAVID WILKINSON: That’s right.

MELVYN BRAGG: They grabbed it.

DAVID WILKINSON: It came at the speed of light, it came at the speed of sail really. The 20:10 ((same waits)) here.

"with an eye to the main chance" and "it wings across to London"

"eye to the main chance" meaning: "seeking to profit from this".
"wings across to London" meaning: it crosses over to London.

As regards your 20:10, the closest I can get is "the same wait as here".
