T-bus brugsysteem

Dutch to English Tech/Engineering Telecom(munications) Data exchange

I think it is a T-Bus bridge circuit system, but when in doubt, check it out ...TIA

Discussion

Ken Cox Nov 27, 2007:
'brug' may also be a literal translation of 'bridge' as used in network topology contexts to designate a device that links two disparate networks or network segments, but that may be too detailed (technical) for your context.
Siobhan Schoonhoff-Reilly (asker) Nov 27, 2007:
Makes sense and in which case I reckon that it would be perfectly okay to simply use 'T-bus system' as you suggested. Many thanks for your help!
Ken Cox Nov 27, 2007:
'T-bus connection system' sounds OK to me. I'm not sure what the 'brug' bit refers to, but it might just be the idea of 'intermediary', which could be omitted in your context.
Siobhan Schoonhoff-Reilly (asker) Nov 26, 2007:
The text is a press release about a particular modem that has been selected from particular company for the reconfiguration of a central data centre. This is the only technical reference in the text, so there is little else for me to add. The 'brug' part is the culprit here. I' m now wonder whether 'T-bus connection system' would be a logical option?

DIN-rail bus / T-bus system

possibly (more context necessary to tell for sure)

see:

Installation plus: The modular DIN rail bus or "T-Bus"

The T branch plug connectors are snapped onto the DIN rail and pushed together. The INTERFACE modules are simply snapped onto this bus.

Hot Swapping

The DIN rail bus or "T-Bus" supplies the modules on the DIN rail with voltage and carries the data between the modules. If a device is ever removed from the DIN rail bus, the connection between the remaining modules remains intact.

Peer comment(s):

agree Jack den Haan : ... but wouldn't necessarily have to be a DIN system IMHO. I think you could retain the 'bridging' part in the translation too, even if that doesn't google well: T-bus bridging system.
