Erbab Federation of Trade and Industry Explanation: Greetings. The original term seems to be the formal title of an organization, a la a "chamber of commerce and industry," with a customary goal of promoting business, industral growth, and other direct investment for the benefit of a particular city or region. Erbab (inferring that this is a place name?) Federation of Trade and Industry or Erbab Federation of Commerce and Industry Hope this helps. Khair, in shaa' Allah. Regards, Stephen H. Franke San Pedro, California -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 hrs (2008-01-31 00:06:56 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I thank the two kind respondents about that term, and I stand corrected (and better informed). Accordingly, l would suggest: 1. Federation of Business and Industrial Firm Owners or 2. Federation of Entrepreneurs and (Small) Industry Owners Emandan's rendition would be fine, but the original text seems to lack the usual Arabic term (ghurf = غرف ) for "chambers" (of commerce and industry, etc.) which customarily appears in a formal name of such organizations. Alternately, this "federation" may a usage equal to, preferred over, that of a "chamber" etc. Regards to all. Khair, in shaa' Allah. Stephen |
