Bea, een "clevis" is eerder een soort haak, of (zeilterm) harp, met een pen. Zoek clevis op Google en zet je screen op "Images" in plaats van "Web", dan krijg je illustraties te zien van vele soorten "clevis".

Een "boom pendant" heeft imho te maken met de ophanging van de laadboom of giek of (aldus VD (scheep.) vertaling voor 'boom'), vgl.:

The platform had reportedly been raised about 2 feet when the right-side boom pendant rode out of the boom tip pendant sheave, immediately introducing 200 feet of slack into the boom-hoist system. The slack subsequently caused the boom to fall.
Workers on the dock saw the boom pendants fall slack as the crane boom fell, striking the edge of the dock and breaking over the dock side.

It must be emphasized that a proper inspection cannot be made when a wire rope is supporting a load or when it is in motion because a taught line can hide broken wires or damaged cores. This applies to both standing and running lines. To inspect boom pendant lines for example, the boom must be down with the lines relaxed. The only possible exception to this rule might be certain types of conveyor and tramway ropes.
